Parasailing is an exciting outdoor activity whereby you soar through the sky while hanging from a parachute and being towed by a speedboat or other vehicle.

After making sure the parasailing equipment is in good condition the ground assistants take position at each side of the parasail to hold it open.

When you are ready to go the parasailing assistants signal the boat driver to accellerate slowly until the tow line is pulled tout. You then take a few quick strides and are pulled aloft.

At the end of the trip the you release the safety pin and gently descend into the water to be picked up by another boat.

Parasailing Equipment

Choose your parasailing equipment carefully. Your safety depends on it.

The main parts of any parasailing equipment are the parasail canopy, the body harness, and the tow line.

The size of the parasail canopy depends on your weight and the wind speed. At moderate wind speeds (10 to 18 mph) a 32' parasail canopy is required for an average weight passenger or light tandem.

For your own safety you should always wear a helmet and life jacket when parasailing.
